Tell me life is beautiful, they all think I have it all

Well, well, well... Working on researching my business plan idea and finding information out about various paths for my pitch... We've been pitching our business ventures to our Attracting capital class. It's a great class and I've learned so much already.

Nothing has been handed to me and I've had to work hard all my life to get the things I wanted. I think struggles in life really are helpful in the end. God has allowed so many things to occur in my life that have been rough, but I believe it was all in His greater plan to make me a stronger more determined person.

I don't have it all, but I have all I need.

Here are some pictures of my childhood:

Boy you're so dope, your love is deadly

This weekend I'm spending my time working on making two books for my book-binding class. It's obviously going to be about my dogs... Since I'm a little dog obsessed. :)

I'm making paper and the whole bit! I got some supplies from my grandmother and asels. I did make the screens and pulp of course. Here are some pictures of my progress...

China Doll

"I can be your china doll, if you like to see me fall."

This past Saturday I spent the evening taking photos of my good friend from high school, Andie. As an assignment in my Fashion Photography class, we were given the task of photographing a single person in 5 different outfits in 5 different settings which needed to include 5 portraits and 5 detailed images. It seems like a lot of "rules", but in actuality it really only means that in each location you go to make sure the model is in something new and you take both a close up and full body shot.

Here are some of the great shots I got...

Hello.

Texas Creativity

Hello. As a new member to the Blogger World, I would like to introduce myself:

My name is Jordan Barnett and I was born and raised in the great state of Texas! I grew up in a loving Christian family including my dad, mom, and THE BEST big brother EVER. I have been so blessed to have such an encouraging family (& extended family) who have always supported me through all my artistic/creative ventures. I am a studio artist currently studying at Southern Methodist University. Although I place myself in the category of "studio artist" I am much more than that. I started school at The University of Oklahoma where I cheered and pledged the GREATEST sorority, Tri Delt. After deciding that I needed to learn the business side to art I transferred to SMU. The transition was a challenge since I had made so many wonderful friends at OU, but I was ready to engage in classes that would be beneficial to my future plans of becoming an artistic business owner.

For this blog I plan to learn a lot about myself. I want to be able to encourage other artists to try something new yet still stick to their values and beliefs. This blog will be a place for me to share my thoughts, ideas, and activities of my daily life as a creative individual. I plan to write as much as possible working around my busy schedule as a student and nanny.

People are always looking for that one idea that is unique and unlike something they have ever seen/heard... and this is the place to find it. My goal is to show and give inspiration for all types of artist-- whether it be in photography, printmaking, sewing, fashion, metal work, jewelry, and design. I want the BIGGER style of Texas to be known... because as you know, EVERYTHING IS BIGGER IN TEXAS!

So, why should you read my blog? Well... because I am a funky, outgoing, girly-girl, who is constantly creating something new and always working on multiple things at once! There is never a dull moment in my full schedule... I am all over the place!

My Brother, Zach, and I on our ranch.

Just had purchased my own drill press for my studio!

Best Friends Forever... missing a few though! :(

BEST FRIEND...Love MAX so much!
